Alexandru and Georgiana were taking their first steps in an unknown place for them – Grand SPA Lietuva. It’s one of the biggest health and recreation complex in the Baltic States. Located in the center of Druskininkai. Grand SPA Lietuva offers lots of procedures and entertainment under one roof – three-star and four-star hotels, medical treatment complex, water park, restaurants and conference halls. If someone likes active leisure, they can find lots of different activities like billiards, indoor or outdoor tennis or bowling. One of the greatest things about Grand SPA Lietuva is that it has its own mineral water fountain. It provides natural, pure mineral water, taken from deepness reaching even 264 meters.

This place is perfect for those who wants to gain knowledge in tourism field. Working in Grand SPA Lietuva for Alexandru and Georgiana was a life-changing experience. They had a chance to dive into the fast and adventurous daily life of this complex. Even though students in Grand SPA Lietuva are welcome every year, it was the first time someone from abroad came to live and work here. Although the first days were challenging because of the language barrier, Grand SPA Lietuva team did a great job to satisfy students’ needs for knowledge and experience. Days gone by and the communication became much easier – it was a valuable lesson for both sides.

First day students got to know the whole complex. It wasn’t so easy because we are talking about a huge place with over 200 of employees. Later on Alexandru and Georgiana worked in food departement, in a hotel called “Dzukija” and have been helping in the garden. It was hard for them to work with clients because of the language barrier, but their work in other places was very helpful. Summer is the busiest season of the year so it’s hard to take care of interns, but once they got fully into work – they were irreplaceable. Everyone who worked with Alexandru and Georgiana tried to make their visit as comfortable as possible. And everything went just great! What was most exciting? The young students just loved spending their time after work in Grand SPA Lietuva water park and leisure club called “Sukurys”.

These two weeks were unforgettable not only for Alexandru and Georgiana. It was the first but not the last memorable experience for the whole of Grand Spa Lietuva team as well.
