Christian had a bit different story from others who have come to a long road from Romania. They had a chance to work in pairs. But a young student Christian had to take all responsibility on his own. He’s been waiting to have some adventurous two weeks.
The hotel and SPA “Goda” is located in a comfortable and quiet place, surrounded by nature and away from the city bustle. Each of the rooms in this hotel is different – all of them have their specific color and a legend – that’s why the hotel is so exclusive. If you come up to visit its roof you can find a whole SPA complex – a quiet, relaxing music, sauna, a cozy terrace with loungers and even chess games – everything under the open sky.
As we already know, all of the students from Romania who were practicing in Druskininkai didn’t know how to speak English very well. Christian was in the same situation, so he had a unique chance to study English in educational institution “Spectrum of professions”. And that was not the only one activity he had been experiencing – Christian also participated in other social and leisure events with his colleagues from the hotel. Even the barrier of different languages wasn’t a problem anymore. Actually, he joined the team so enthusiastic, he even started to learn Lithuanian. One of his colleagues, Vilija, was teaching him while Christian was helping her to take care of the rooms. They found a way to make this time even more productive. A few days later, Christian was working like a professional.
When he got to know the daily routine of a hotel, he went to practice in a café – that is Christian learned to take care of the dishes and most importantly, he was taught to know the secrets of customer service and to act like a professional waiter.
The days were going by and Christian was having a time of his life. The work was going great. He even translated the whole SPA services into the Romanian language. He wanted to give something back so he helped wherever he was able to. Christian checked the whole Facebook page of hotel “Goda” and compared it to other similar pages. That’s why he gave some valuable pieces of advice.
These two weeks were used both for the young student and his hotel colleagues. They have learned lots of things from each other and it was really sad to say goodbye but all good things have to come to an end… at least for now. As his colleagues said – Christian is always welcome in Druskininkai in the future.
